In 1910, John W (1) Jr. was in the household of John W Coons in Miami Ward 2, Ottawa, Oklahoma. ^[3]

In 1920, John (11) was in the household of John W Coons in Miami, Ottawa, Oklahoma.^[4]

John (31) married Laura Louise Cain (29) (born on April 6, 1910 in Richwood, Nicholas, West Virginia, United States; daughter of William Perry Cain and Eleanor Jane (Watson) Cain) in 1940. Their daughter was Susan Coons (1948–2011).
