To Hon. John Dickey Judge of Probate for the County of Chester. The petition of Mary W. Gaston and William G. Corder shows unto your honor that on the 17th day of May or about the day of 1874 Hannah Corder departed this life intestate having at the time of her death a considerable estate in Real and personal property.

2nd That on the 17th day of May 1875 Letters of Administration were duly granted by this honorable court to C.C. Macoy, Clerk of Court of Chester County on all the personal estate of said intestate.

3rd That the said administrator aforesaid after being duly qualified according to law did proceed to appraise, advertise and sell the said personal estate of his intestate applying the proceeds of said sale to the payment of funeral expense and all the expenses of the last illness, and thereafter to the payment of all claims against said estate regularly and legally established that after paying all demands thus established against said estate there remained a small balance for distribution among the several heirs at law and distributees of the said Hannah Corder deceased.

4th That at the time of the death of said Hannah Corder she was seized and possessed of a tract of land containing one hundred and eight acres which was lying and being in the County of Chester abd State aforesaid on the Branch Waters of Little Rocky Creek bounded by the lands of Wm. Baylis, Wm. Wylie, and others as shown by the plat hereto annexed bequeathed to her to her the said Hannah Corder in the year 1844 by her father William Corder decd.

5th That the next of kin and heirs at law of the said Hannah Corder deceased are to wit:

6th That all the parties herebefore named as plantiffs & defendants are the next of kin & heirs at law of the said Hannah Corder decd. and are entitled to a distribution share of said estate under the act of the General Assembly providing for the distribution of estates of intestates.

7th That the number of heirs and distributees as herein before named is so great as to make it impractical to attempt to divide into parcels the tract of land herein before described giving to each his distribution share in the land itself. That many of the supposed heirs at law and distributees of said estate are non-residents of this state several of them being entirely missing and their whereabouts altogether unknown.

Wherefore your petitioner demands judgement, that the said land as herein before described be sold by the Sheriff of Chester County under the order of the Probate Court for cash or on such other terms as may be deemed to this list interest of the parties.

The above is a plat of a tract of land belonging to William Corder Senr. which I find to contain 108 acres. The said land is a part of two grants and is lying and situate on the Branches of the Little Rocky Creek and hath such form marks and boundaries as the above plat represents. Surveyed the 14th day of August 1838.
