Valeda Cote was born 8 Nov 1901^[1] Her parents were Henry Xavier Cote and Odina Gosselin.

She married Albert Charles Girouard (1899-1974). Together they had seven children.

Obituary: Valeda S. Girouard, 84, of 7 Toni Lynn Terrace, the widow of Albert C. Girouard, died yesterday at the Briarcliff Nursing Home, Johnston. Born in Barton, Vermont, a daughter of the late Xavier and Osma (Gosselin) Cote, she had lived in Middletown about 2 1/2 years. She previously lived in Cranston 17 years. Mrs. Girouard was a miller for the A. T. Cross Co., Lincoln, for about 14 years before retiring in 1967. She was a member of Surprise-Woolhouse Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, of Cranston. She leaves three sons, Kenneth W. Girouard of Bourne, Mass., Norman L. Girouard of Pawcatuck, Conn., and Everett C. Girouard of Franklin, Mass.; four daughters, Jeannette Hall of Cranston, Bertha Pulsifer of Warwick, Muriel Pastore Jr. of Cranston and Lucille Fleming of Middletown; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, Garden City. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.^[2]
