Biography

Thomas was born about 1805. He was the son of Richard Cotter.^[1] He worked for his father in the West Indies before returning to England where he married Jane Nicholson in 1834.

Thomas was appointed the first colonial surgeon of South Australia^[2] in 1835. He travelled to South Australia in 1837 on the Coromandel.^[3]

Thomas died in 1882.^[4][5]
