Elisha Cotton was born 1 Sep 1753 in Middletown, Connecticut, a son of Bathsheba (White) Cotton (1721-1795) and John Cotton (abt.1720-aft.1764) ^[1],^[2].

Elisha Cotton married 21 Oct 1779 at Middletown, Connecticut, Sarah Alvord, with whom he had one child ^[3]:

Millicent Cotton, b. 19 Jul 1780 ^[4]

This family resided at Middletown, then probably moved to Mayfield, New York.
