Sorry to say this is not the father of Thomas Francis Couch of Ireland who married Jane Fox - the Lostwithiel family and indeed if you check with parish records will show there was a son Thomas born in 1890 Lostwithiel to John Couch (b 1766) and Nancy Mennint (Menheniot). He had two brothers Henry and William Couch. This is not the line that ends up in Australia.

The Irish Catholic Branch from Thomas Francis Couch of Ireland does not relate to the Lostwithiel, Cornwall, family. I can provide an alternative proven ancestry for the Cornwall branch from John Couch b. 1766. There is only one Thomas Francis Couch listed as born in Cornwall and that is in 1895.
