emailed on 8 Jan 2010:
You show that George & Ann had four children. Two of these, Fanny & Mark are shown with their parents on the 1851 Census and Mark only is shown living with his parents on the 1861 Census. Fanny & Mark are registered in the Index of Births the the surname of Councell while the other two Ellen & George are registered with the surname of Counsell. Further more, the birth registrations of Mark in 1848 Q3 & George in 1848 Q1 don't up add if they are brothers. Call me a Doubting Thomas (or even a Suspicious Herbert) but I suspect that the parents of Ellen & George are NOT George & Ann, although of course if anyome has their births certificates & it says som then I creep away into the naugty corner and wear my dunce's hat!
Note:- In the 1851 Census there are:-
* Ellen Counsell, born abt 1848 in Glastonbury living in Glastonbury with her parents
* George Counsell, born abt 1848 in Blagdon living in Winscombe with her parents John & Matilda
