Biography

Charles Henry Counts was born on 23 September 1887 in Rocky Head, Dale County, Alabama, United States. He was the son of Simeon Counts (1845-1921) and Julia Frances (Hall) Counts (1849-1934). Both of his draft cards have his year of birth as 1888, but his gravestone was engraved with 1887 and 1887 was recorded on his death certificate and in Social Security records.^[1][2][3]

Charles married Blanche Vera Russell on 28 December 1906 in Coffee County, Alabama.^[4] They were the parents of at least two children.

Charles married Parelee (Vail) Counts (1897-1979), probably about or before 1913. They were the parents of at least six children.

Charles died on 1 December 1963 in Harris County, Texas, United States, aged 76.^[3][5] He was buried in Old Salem Cemetery, Center, Shelby County, Texas.^[6]
