Biography
- He worked as a fireman, and is death record indicates that he was single -- not widowed -- at the time of his death. His cause of death was "apoplexy."[1]
Research Notes
- His death record gives his mother's name as Nettie Cole.[1] However, the 1880 Census shows his spouse's name as Nettie Cole. It appears that James's son, Fred, was the information on the death certificate, and I wonder if he inadvertently gave his own mother's name instead of Jacob's mother's name. -- Fiscus-32 16:25, 13 October 2015 (EDT)
