Biography

Fanny Fern Cousins was born in 1857 in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, England to John Cousins and Charlotte (Webley) Cousins. Her birth was registered in Stroud, Gloucestershire in the last quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Webley.^[1]

In 1861 Fanny Cousins (age 3, Scholar) lived at Watledge in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire with her father John (49, Woollen Cloth Worker), mother Charlotte (48, Woollen Cloth Weaver), and five siblings: Jacob (18, Woollen Cloth Worker), Ambrose (14, Woollen Cloth Worker), Henry (12, Woollen Cloth Worker), Edwin (8, Scholar), and Mary (6, Scholar).^[2]

In 1871 Fanny Cousins (age 13, Scholar) was visiting with her brother Henry (22, Labourer) in Kings Stanley, Gloucestershire.^[3]

Fanny Fern Cousins married Henry Huntley in 1878. The marriage was registered in Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales in the third quarter of the year.^[4] Henry was the widower of Fanny's older sister Jane Bailey (Cousins) Huntley, so Fanny's stepchildren were also her nieces and nephews.

Fanny and Henry had three children:

1. Ella Blanche Huntley (1881-1883)
2. Clarence Stuart Huntley (1883-1957)
3. Rosa Ella (Huntley) Jack (1888-1983)

In 1881 Fanny Huntly (age 23) lived at Maughan St in Penarth, Glamorganshire with her husband Henry (42, Grocer & Provision Dealer), stepson Herbert W (19, Grocers Assistant), stepdaughter Elsie A G (3), and servant Amelia Hart (15).^[5]

In 1901 Fanny F Huntly (age 43, Grocer's Assistant) lived at Maughan Street in Penarth with her husband Henry (62, Grocer Shop Keeper & Sub Postman), son Clarence S (18, Grocer's Assistant), daughter Rose E (12), and visitor Ida V Draper (13, Millinery Apprentice).^[6]

In 1911 Fanny Fern Huntley (age 53, Grocer & Sub Post Mistress) lived in Penarth with her husband Henry (73, Retired Grocer), son Clarence Stuart (28, Grocer Shopkeeper), and daughter Rosa Ella (22, School Teacher Glam County School).^[7]

Fanny's husband passed away in 1920.

Fanny F Huntley passed away on 17 Jul 1921, aged 63 years. Her death was registered in Cardiff in the third quarter of the year.^[8]
