Biography

Abishai Cowing was born about August 1770 in Rochester, Plymouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay, son of Zebah Cowing (1736– ) and Susannah Howard (about 1740– ).

Abishai married Jemima Baker on 4 September 1796 in Dartmouth, Bristol.

Abishai married Hope Chase, daughter of David Chase and Judith (UNKNOWN) Chase on 16 May 1805 in Dartmouth, Bristol. Their known children were:

1. Welthy Willson Cowen (28 February 1806 – 21 May 1892)
2. Philadelphia Gray Cowen (21 January 1810 – unknown)

Abishai died on 31 May 1857 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts, United States.
