Samuel Cowlam was christened at St Oswald's church, on 14 Dec 1766 at Crowle, Lincolnshire, son of Robert Cowlam and Jane Anderson^[1]

On 26 Nov 1792, Samuel married Betty Chester at Crowle, Lincolnshire, in St Oswald's Church. Witnesses to the marriage were Ann Anderson (spinster) and James Anderson (note: witness is James Anderson, jnr)^[2]
