Biography

Joseph was a Friend (Quaker)

On 15 June 1696 Joseph married Sara Fisher, daughter of William, at Ross-on-Wye Quaker Meeting House, Herefordshire. They were both described as being of Ross-on-Wye. He is described in the Quaker marriage record as a grocer, son of John, a glover.^[1] They had at least the following children:

• Joseph, born on 15 March (Quaker 1st month) 1697;^[2][3][4] died on 29 September (Quaker 7th month) 1698^[5][6]
• John, born on 25 September (Quaker 7th month) 1698^[7][8]
• William, born on 28 February 1699/1700 at Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire^[9]
• Elizabeth, born on 16 July 1701^[10]
• another Joseph, born on 25 January 1702/3 (Quaker 11th month, 1702)^[11][12]
• James, born on 7 April (Quaker 2nd month) 1705^[13][14]

Joseph's death on 10 January 1729/30 (Quaker 11th month, 1729) was recorded by Ross-on-Wye Quaker Monthly Meeting: he was buried on 13 January^[15]
