DAVIS, Gladys Juanita – Age 81 of Sutherlin, passed away o Tuesday, March 3, 1998 in a local hospital. She was born on November 4, 1916 at Royal, Oregon to William Merrit and Stella Evangeline (Dwyer) Cox. On June 1, 1939 in Camino, California she married Alvin T. Davis. Gladys was a housewife and homemaker. They lived in California until 1978 when they moved here from St. Helena, California. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her husband of over 58 years. Alvin T. Davis of Sutherlin; a son, Wendell Davis and his wife Judith also of Sutherlin; a sister, Elna Ewert of Sutherlin; two brothers, Ellis Cox of Canby, Oregon and Walter Cox of California and three grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Friday March 6, 1998 at 1 p.m., at Valley View Cemetery. Pastor Richard Harbour will officiate. CHEPEL OF THE FIRS is in charge of arrangements.
