Biography

Samuel was born in 1760. He lived “near Yellow Brocohoo Creek” in York County, Pennsylvania, when he was commissioned a Captain on 16 January 1777 in Col. Chambers’s Regiment of the 1st Pennsylvania Infantry of the Continental Army. He eventually moved to Greene County, Tennessee, where he passed away in 1807.

Later DAR sources and research have shown this Captain Craig and the Sam Craig Married to Jane Innes Burns were not the same Samuels - Samuel Craig married to Jane Innes Craig was a Private in the Revolution - he is one of my DAR Patriots #739380 supplemental application
