Beatrice Ellen Crang was born on 27 July 1885, her birth registered between Jul-Sep 1885 at Totnes, Devon, England.^[1] She was baptised on 28 May 1893 at Churston Ferrers, Devon, the daughter of Robert Coyde Crang and Emma Woodman.^[2]

In the 1901 census of Churston Ferrers, Devon, Beatrice was age 15 and living at Churston Village, Churston Ferrers, with her father Robert (49), General Labourer on Farm, mother Emma (45), and siblings Robert C (14), Emma (11), Katie (8), Ethel M (4), and Mary V (1), and nephew Thomas G Crang (4).^[4]

In the 1911 census of Churston Ferrers, Devon, Beatrice was age 25, Domestic Servant, and living in the household of Laura Fish (62), widowed, and her three children.^[5]

Beatrice married William John Pomeroy Hellier, their marriage registered between Apr-Jun 1911 at Churston Ferrers, Devon.^[6][7]
