Biography

John Roberts Crawshaw was born on 28 October 1876 in New Zealand, son of Thomas Brown Crawshaw (1853–1941) and Louisa Austin (1853–1915).[1][2]

His siblings were:

  1. Jane Eveline Crawshaw (13 March 1875 – 30 May 1953)
  2. Thomas Brown Crawshaw (17 June 1878 – 25 October 1945)
  3. Hester Louisa Crawshaw (1880 – unknown)
  4. Edith Mary Crawshaw (16 December 1881 – 15 October 1975)
  5. Herbert Edgar Crawshaw (29 September 1884 – 26 May 1962)
  6. Maud Josephine Crawshaw (5 July 1886 – 1975)
  7. Ernest Elgood Crawshaw (23 June 1889 – 9 October 1918)

John married Blanche Mary Rowcliffe Ackerman (1880-1957) on 4 July 1901 in New Zealand.[3] They had at least four children :

John died on 26 December 1945 in New Zealand, aged 69.[15] He was buried in Waimairi Cemetery, Burnside, Christchurch City, Canterbury.[2]
