Biography

Nicholas was son of Henry Crispe as described in Hasted's a history of the parish of Whitstaple, Kent:

John Quekes, esq. of Quekes, whose sole daughter and heir Agnes carried it in marriage to John Crispe, esq. afterwards of Quekes, whose descendant Nicholas Crispe, esq. resided here at the time he served the office of sheriff, at the latter part of the first year of queen Elizabeth; but it still continued the property of his father Sir Henry Crispe, before whom he died in 1564, and was buried in this church, leaving only one daughter Dorothy. (fn. 10) Sir Henry Crispe died possessed of it in 1575, but his grandson of the same name, of Quekes, sold this manor in 1605, to Thomas Paramor...[1]

Nicholas had one child, daughter Dorothy per this history.

According to the "Visitation of Kent" Nicholas Crispe's mother was Anne, daughter and heir of George Haselhurst. The matching WikiTree profiles for his parents are Henry Crispe and Anne Haselhurst although these profiles are inadequately sourced currently.[2]

The Kent Visitation also listed a son John Crispe who married Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Roper (this seems likely to be the right Roper family, ages and location matches well enough).

Given all this, if Nicholas died in 1564 with a 10 year old daughter, she was born 1554. Assume Nicholas married in 1553 and was 25 at first marriage, that places his birth about 1528. Therefore his father was probably born by about 1500 and his mother by about 1503 (obviously these figures are rough and could be very different).
