Charles was born in 1943. He was the son of William Cross and Ella Edna Stilwell. He passed away in 2016.

Charles Clinton "Papa Charlie" Cross, son of William Preston Cross and Ella Edna (Stillwell) Cross was born December 28, 1943 in Soper, OK. Our loving husband, father, brother and best friend went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2016 at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. Charlie married Faye Vickers on July 8, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Pampa, TX where he was employed as an oil field fractionator operator for Getty and Texaco. In 1997, Charlie and Faye relocated to Granbury, TX, where he returned to work as a carpenter for Ron Anderson. Those who knew his talent as a woodworker would understand when it was said "there wasn't anything Charlie couldn't do with a hammer, nails and a piece of wood". Charlie served as an usher at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, TX. He was a God driven man with many admirable qualities. He was never called upon that he didn't drop everything to offer his assistance to those in need. Charlie touched so many lives and it was a true blessing to have been a part of his life here on earth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Faye; two sons, Ty Cross and wife, April and family of White Dear, TX, Lance Cross and wife, Jodie and family of Pampa, TX and daughter, Melody Kelley of Granbury, TX and family; two brothers, A.L. Cross and wife, Roxanna of Boswell, OK and James Cross and wife, Karan of Pampa, TX; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends including best friends Bill and Loraine Rose of Granbury, TX.
