Biography
Ethel (Crowe) Whale was born in County Durham, England.
Ethel was born in Durham, Durham, England, in 1892.[1] Her birth was registered in the second quarter. She was the daughter of George Crowe and Mary Ann Malyon. She was enumerated in the 1901 census [2] as an eight year old residing with her parents and five siblings in Durham. In 1911, [3] she appears residing in the household of sister Maude Mary in Gateshead, Durham. She stated she was eighteen and single.
Ethel married Arthur George Whale in 1913.[4] The marriage was registered in the third quarter in Gateshead. The couple would have at least one child, Ethel Mary, in 1915.
Ethel passed away in 1969.[5] Her death was registered in the third quarter in Tynemouth, Northumberland.
