Peter Curtin was born Peter Curtayne in Cork, Ireland, about 29 June 1833,[1] the son of Margaret Burke and Daniel Curtayne[1] and grandson of Margaret and Patrick Burke and Joanna and Francis Curtayne.
Peter Curtin was a Bounty Immigrant to New South Wales.
Peter Curtayne (8) emigrated to New South Wales as a Bounty Immigrant aboard the "Moffatt"[1] with his parents, Margaret Burke (26) and Daniel Curtayne (26), arriving at Port Jackson on 31 May 1841. Peter is recorded with his siblings James (6 weeks), Francis (2) and uncle Cornelius.
Peter Curtin, son of Margaret Burke and Daniel Francis Curtin, married Susannah Melamphy, daughter of Mary and Michael Melamphy in Armidale, NSW on 26 February 1859.[2] They had about 15 children.
Peter Paul Curtin passed away at Tingha, NSW on 11 February 1919.[3][4] He was survived by his wife Susannah[4]. Although his obituaty states he was survived by 15 children,[4] not all of them have been identified.

Peter Paul Curtin
A very old resident of the " Old Mill" passed away on Tuesday in the person of Peter Paul Curtin. aged 84 years. The deceased who was born in County of Cork. (Ireland), has been in this State 77 years and is survived by a widow and 15 children. The remains were interred in the Catholic portion of the Tingha Cemetery on Wednesday, Rev. Father McDermott officiating.
