Margaret Stankley née Dakers was born about 1767[1] probably at Houghton-le-Spring, County Durham, England, United Kingdom.[2] She lived all or most of her life in northern County Durham, England, United Kingdom. She married James Stankley on 6 September 1807.[3] She had at least two offspring. She died of "old age" on 1 October 1847 at Dunston Square, Whickham parish, at a stated age of 80.[4][1]
Margaret's surname is variable in the sources (Dacres on marriage certificate and in baptism record of son Thomas in 1807, Daker in baptism record of son James in 1812). She has been assigned "Dakers" in this profile because that is the commonest spelling in County Durham, including the Houghton-le-Spring area where she was likely born, in census years from 1841 to 1911. It is therefore the likeliest spelling to match up with profiles of her relatives of the same surname.
