Biography

Marshall made an application in June 1943 with Multnomah, Oregon to register his birth that occurred on 17 Oct 1885. The application was accepted stated this he is the son of Watson Dana and Margaret Elizabeth Riley.

  • Marshall and his wife left for their vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii on S. S. Sonoma from Sydney New South Wales on 24 Jan 1930. Marshall is listed as 44 years of age and Nora was 40 years.

Marshall and his wife returned from their vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii and returned on the S. S. Wilhemmina on 27 Jan 1930. The manifest provides the birth dates for both him and his wife. Marshall is listed as being born on 17 Oct 1885 in Newport, Ohio and his wife, Nora C on 14 Feb 1889 in Norway, Oregon.

Marshall registered for WWII Draft registration on 25 Apr 1942 in the Masonic Building in Portland, .Clackamas County, Oregon being 56 years old. He states he was born on 17 Oct 1885 in Washington County, Ohio. He states the P L Jackson in care of the Oregon Journal will know his whereabouts at all times. Death

Marshall passed away on 24 Jun 1966 in the Willamette Falls Hospital in Clackamas, Oregon. He was 80 years old at the time of his death. He fell in his garage and ended up being in the hospital for 23 days before he succumbed to his injuries. The cause of death is stated to be a stroke with contributing factors of Arteriosclerosis and Compound Fracture of the right leg with severe shock. His father is stated to be The Rev Watson Dana with his Mother being Margaret E. Riley. His date of birth is recorded as 17 Oct 1885 having occurred in Ohio. He leaves his wife, Martha a widow. He is listed as being the retired Commissioner, Public Dock Com, Portland, Oregon. He was to be buried on 28 Jun 1966 in Mt. View Cemetery. He shares a joint monument with the inscription containing their names, birth and date years. He is buried at Section D, Blk 18, Lot 3, Grave B.
