Biography
Watson Darling was born in 1810 in Ganton, (sometimes called Ganton Wold to distinguish it from another Ganton on the edge of Hull) on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds where they meet the North Sea. [1]
Marriage and Family
Watson Darling married Frances Elvidge in Hunmanby an ancient village north of Ganton but inland from Filey. [2]
In 1841 Watson was working as a shoemaker in Hunmanby and the couple already had two young children. [3]
