Margaret Davenant was the daughter of John Davenant, a London merchant, and sister of John Davenant, later Bishop of Salisbury. She married first, John Townley, and after being widowed, she married second, Robert Townson in 1604. They had a large family and she died on 29 Oct 1634. She is buried at Salisbury Cathedral.
