James and Johannah moved from Wilcox county to Escambia county around 1904.
They are buried in the Freewill Cemetery in Canoe, Alabama.
Early last Wednesday death claimed one of Escambia county's most consistent and pioneer farmers, James I. Davis, Aged 80, of the Robinsonville section. Mr. Davis came here from Wilcox county many hears ago, and was well known in this section. Funeral services were conducted Thanksgiving Day afternoon from the home of one of his daughters, Mrs. Ferd McNeill at Canoe, where burial took place. Paul Simon of Pensacola officiated. Other children beside Mrs. McNeill were Mrs. B. R. B;urgess of Pensacola; Mrs. R. M. Watson of Brewton; Mrs. Anna (Ina) Giddens of Repton; Mrs. John DuBose, Edinburgh Texas; M. Davis, Mobile and Edgar Davis of Shreveport, La. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh DuBose of Birmingham were among the numerous grand children who attended the final rites.
