Mary Davis was born on March 26, 1680, in Charlestown, Massachusetts Bay Colony to Mary Converse and Nathaniel Davis. Mary Davis married William Longfellow on June 26, 1702, when she was 22 years old. Then Mary Davis married William Sheafe in Charlestown, Massachusetts, on January 13, 1704, when she was 23 years old. Her husband William passed away on October 14, 1718, at the age of 35 in Charlestown. They had been married 14 years. Mary Davis died in Charlestown on January 11, 1720, when she was 39 years old and was buried in Phipps Street Burying Ground in Charleston, Massachusetts Bay.
Whoever her parents, it appears that this Mary Davis married first William Longfellow, in Boston on 26 Jun 1702, and that he died within a few years, at least by 13 Jan 1704 when as Mary Longfellow, she married in Charlestown William Sheafe.[1]
A previous version of this profile claimed she was born 23 March 1682/3 in Newbury. The Mary Davis recorded in the Newbury Vital Records for that date was the daughter of John Davis-- probably he who had married Sarah Carter there 8 Apr 1681. BUT, there is another Mary Davis representing John and Sarah's daughter, and her profile claims she married someone else.
