Biography

Canada Flag
Henry Davison lived in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Edward Davison Sr. and Desiah Mack inherited lumbering and fishing industries, from their families at Mill Village before moving their own family to Bridgewater (a county over) in 1865. Davison built a large lumbering business by the time his sons were adults and prior to his own death it employed about 350 men and 30 teams of oxen.[1]

Rather abruptly, E.D. Davison Sr. passed in 1894, eldest son Henry in 1896, and second eldest son Edward Jr. in 1902. At this point, on June 23, 1903, remaining son Frank Davison and his nephew Archie Davison (son of Henry) the remaining partners decided to sell the lumbering company to J.M. Hastings of Pittsburg, USA. The company E.D. Davison & Sons became Davison Lumber Company Ltd.[2]

Henry Davison (50) is on the 1891 census with wife Annie (42) and their children; Archie (16) and May (11).[6] Along with them are two servants; Margaret Publicover (21) and William Prest (59). All 3 Davison sons are listed as Lumbermen; both Edward Jr (46) and Francis (42) are the next 2 families on the census.
