  • Dawes-Perram: On Saturday April 22, the marriage of former Molong girl, Miss Eileen Perram, to Mr. Norman Dawes, of Sydney, took place at the Historical St. Lukes Church of England, at Liverpool. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father was attired in a beautifully cut gown of white figured angel skin, featuring a long train and large bustle bow at back. She carried a shower bouquet of tuberoses and white glad-iolia. Her delicate, full length tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of Orange blossoms. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Miss Joyce Perram, of Molong, and Shirley, of Sydney. Both were sweetly dressed in identical frocks of blue figured organdi over taffeta, and carried bouquett of red rose buds and tulle with matching head dresses. Duties of best man and groomsman were ably carried out by Mr. Alf Dawes and John Law, brother and friend of the goom respectively. During the signing of the register, Miss Shirley Burns (fiancee of the bride's brother) sweetly rendered 'Because'. Later, the 76 guests were received at Liverpool School of Arts, by Mrs. Perram smartly attired in a frock of black crepe, with blue trimmings, blue hat and black accessories, and Mrs. Dawes frocked in attractive grey wool with navy accessories. Both wore shoulder sprays of red rose buds. Pride of place at the bridal table was held by a handsome three tired cake, made by Mrs. Dawes and Mrs. Perram in conjunction, and artistically iced by Mr. 'Shorty' Thomas, formerly of Molong. A delicious knife and fork supper was served and catered for by Pillengers Caterers of Auburn. After the usual toasts were made, several telegrams were read, including one from Mrs. F. Johnson, of U.S.A., sister of the bride. The rest of the evening was spent in dancing and several vocal items. Many beautiful and costly gifts were displayed. Later, the happy couple departed for their honeymoon by car, which was spent in Katoomba. The bride chose a smart tailored suit of blue wool with matching hat and navy accessories. Their future home will be in Sydney.
