Edward Bannister Dawes was born at Peasmarsh, Sussex, England on 7 November, 1813, and christened at Rye on 19 December, 1913.[1] He was the son of Aaron Dawes and Elizabeth Bannister.
He married Elizabeth Betsy Hukins at Woodchurch, Sussex, on 24 August, 1838.[2]
Edward migrated to NSW as a bounty immigrant on the ship Cornwall, which arrived 1 September, 1839. He was recorded as a farmer, religion: Protestant, and was engaged by James Hope at Botany Bay.
He died at Albion Park, New South Wales on 23 January, 1897.
