Biography

This may be the Jonathan who married Mary Buttis at Greenwich, Connecticut on 13 Aug 1718. Jonathan and his family were a town charge on 23 Apr 1724. In 1712 the Town granted liberty to Catharine Dayton and Jonathan her "Eldest son" to improve 20 acres of land. He was living on this land, and so was Abram Dayton's Negro woman, probably a slave, when it became necessary for the Town to support her.
