Daughter of Samuel DeGraw and Elizabeth Utley.
There are a variety of stated birth locations for this daughter. Some sources, including her own DC shown here, say she was born in Canada. The DC for son George Whiting (which is linked) gives specific information for this question. The reader needs to keep these differences in mind when quoting from any of the sources.
Marriage registration: Wealthy married John Whiting of Caradoc township on Aug. 26, 1833. Minister was Rev. Sloot and witnesses were Caleb Whiting and Aaron Kilbourn.
The 1900 census as well as info given on the DC indicated she had 9 children but only 4 were alive at that time.
The 1851/2 census for Caradoc Twp., Middlesex County, Ontario states that Wealthy is a widow. She is living with her widowed father and three of her children. In 1882 she moved to Mecosta County, MI to live with her daughter and son-in-law Hugh and Margaret Johnson.
Children: Sarah Elizabeth, George, John, Margaret, Urania, Abner and three others whose names are currently unknown.
