Following from the research of John D. Baldwin III: JOHN DeLONG (5-1-6-2-2-9) b. 4 Dec 1841.

1850 - Age 8.

1860 - Might he have had a first wife Mary? He was apparently not in father's household this year, and there was a John with wife Mary, both 23, in Franklin Twp., Snyder Co. The age is quite young, but note he understated his age by several years in 1880 also. Only 1850 is a proper fit..

1870 - Father's enumeration not found.

1871- Md. 5 Feb 1871 Charilla Borger, she b. 1852-3 in PA. (Brian DeRoo has name Chirilla Burger, cemetery records has Chirila.../rwd.)

1871 - Moved soon after marriage to Three Rivers, Lockport Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI. Gr-daughter Beulah Jean said first child was b. there Dec 1871 (1880 census confirms year and state) though in another letter she said they moved from "Near the Cumberland Mountain" to Three Rivers about 1874.

1872 - To Kawkawlin, Bay Co., MI where Mrs. Jean said all other children were born starting with Ellen Nora in Jan 1873. But elsewhere she placed this move as about 1878.

1880 - Kawkawlin Twp., Bay Co., MI, age 35 and 27.

1900 -

1910 - census Kawkawlin Twp., Bay Co., MI: (Apr 18, 1910)(image 6 of 47) John age 68, b. PA, w/wife Charrilla (57), children: Fred (22), John Jr. (27), Henry (20), Letta (24) & Mande (18).

1920 - census Kawkawlin Twp., Bay Co., MI: (Jan 21, 1920) 126 126 Delong John O M m w 78 m PA PA PA None ...................----......Charilla.......f w 67 m PA PA PA None

1928 - He d. 27 Sep 1928.

1935 - She d. 23 Sep 1935.

Granddaughter Beulah Jean said he had relatives in Three Rivers, MI (this was his brother James), and in Cassiopolis, Cass Co. (whom I do not identify. I find no unidentified DeLongs there in 1880. There were some Longs from PA but none that look like John's relatives.)

Mrs. Jean said Charilla had sisters in PA and OH.
