Biography
Kingdom.William Deal was born in 1819 in Bulmer, Essex, England, United Kingdom, son of Isaac Deale and Kisiah (Kezia) Bonner.
He married Mary Ann who was the mother of William Henry Reynolds Dale. With William and other Deal family members, he emigrated to Canterbury on the Egmont in 1856.
He married widow, Susannah Lucas Bromley née Cross later Smith, in 1867 at Sydney.[1] Their children were:
William was the ferryman on the Heathcote River before the bridge was built.
William died on 11 February 1889 in Ferrymead, Canterbury, New Zealand, aged 70. He was buried in Barbadoes Street Cemetery, Christchurch, Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand (plot: Area 2A & 2B, 318a.
