Estelle "Stella" Dease was born on 7 July 1896 in Stokes Bridge Township, Hartsville, Darlington, South Carolina, United States. She was the daughter of John James Dease (Jim) Sr. (1865–1940) and his wife Mary Alice Watson (1867–1923).
She passed away on 6 February 1977 in the Hartsville Hospital, Hartsville, South Carolina, United States.
