Peter Decker, aged 56 years, one of the most prominent residents of Green Township, died in the Clearfield hospital Friday, after an operation. The deceased had been a resident of near Cookport all of his life and was a successful farmer. He was born in Green township in 1860. He was a man of strict integrity and character and won the respect and esteem of all with whom he came in contact and leaves a wide circle of friends and associates to mourn his loss. He was a consistent member of the East Mahoning Baptist church and active in all the affairs of that congregation. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Pittman, of East Philadelphia street, town, and the following children: Blair and Vernie, at home; Ford, of near Commodore; Mrs. Carl Nichol, of Starford; Mrs. Clair Nupp, of near Commodore; Mrs. Calvin McCoy, of near Cookport, and Mrs. Ben Crawford, of Commodore. Funeral services were conducted in the East Mahoning Baptist church Tuesday afternoon. Interment in the church cemetery.
