Biography

William was born about 1817. He is the son of Thomas Delany. He passed away in Adelaide, South Australia during 1883.

William married Elizabeth Sutherland nee Darcy in Gawler, South Australia on 21 July 1862.^[1]

William died in Adelaide, South Australia on 1 January 1883 at the age of 66 years.^[2] The following death notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Express and Telegraph , on 2 January 1883:^[3]

DELANY.—On the 1st January, at the residence of his son, No. 3. Oakley-street, of inflammation of the lungs, William Delany, late of Gawler, aged 66. Colonist of 45 years; deeply regretted by a large circle of friends.

William was buried at the West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide, South Australia. ^[4][5]
