Mrs. Sallie A. Hawkins, 87, of 708 Lyons St., died Saturday night at Boone County Hospital.
She was married to Ona Forest Hawkins November 19, 1902. In Columbia. The celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1962. He died Nov. 1, 1965.
Mrs Hawkins was formerly Sarah Alice Denham, daughter of George and Lina (Drame) Denham. She was born Sept. 5, 1883.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by four sons, George B. Hawkins, Garden City, Kan., William F. Hawkins, Independence, Ernest E. Hawkins, Kansas City, and O.D. Hawkins, Des Moines: two daughters, Mrs. Rice Claxton and Mrs. Verne Lloyd, both of Columbia; four sisters, Mrs. Porter Strawn and Mrs. Grover Owen, both of Columbia. Mr.s George Blohm, Dexter, Iowa and Mrs. Maude Blanchard, Joplin; one brother, Thomas Denham, Webster Iowa; and 39 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Parker's Chapel, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today
