Emma Worden, 94, of Gorham Avenue, Los Angeles, formerly of North Drive, North Attleboro, passed away August 31, 2008 in Santa Monica, CA. She was the beloved wife of the late F. Howard Worden. Born Emma DesPres on January 5, 1914 in Meriden, CT, Emma was a daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Palardy) DesPres. She was raised and educated in Meriden, CT. Emma was employed for over a decade at the former Creed Rosary, Inc. in North Attleboro. A homemaker, Emma formerly resided forty-seven years in North Attleboro, residing in California the past four years to be near her daughter. Mrs. Worden is survived by a daughter: Harriet Hughes and her husband John S. Hughes of Los Angeles; a son-in-law: Michael Poissant of Attleboro; five grandchildren: Nicole Ingegneri, Noelle Ingegneri, John S. Hughes, III, Jeffrey Hughes and Heather Parker; and six great-grandchildren. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a committal service on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 1 PM in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro conducted by the Rev. James Fahey, Pastor of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, South Attleboro. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro.
