Research Notes Possible Connection to another Ancestor: There is a possibility that this Portia diLeone is Portia diLeo (married to Giovanni Battista Lubrano). Because some records are written in Latin, others in Italian and some in a combination of the two languages, the names Leo/Leone/diLeo/diLeone appear to be interchangeable. The birth dates of their children indicate that they may be the same person. However, it is also possible this Portia diLeone died before 1602 (or before available death records for Procida). They were both born before available records (before 1568), so it is not possible to determine if more than one Portia was born during this time-frame. There are only 2 available death records for Portias (one diLeo, died 1625 and one Leone, died 1637). The 1625 record (diLeo) indicates she was widowed, but gives no other information. The 1637 death named only Francesco Antonio as the father, a practice normally done for children or single adults (no husband indicated), and is probably for the Portia diLeo born in 1614 (her father was Francesco).
