Antonino di Carlo is born 15 December 1881 in Corleone, the son of Vincenzo di Carlo and Maria Santa Castro, and is baptized Antoninum on 17 December. His godparents are Michaelangelo Canzoneri and Giovanna Greco.[1]
Antonino immigrates to New York on the SS Perugia with his sister, Rosa, cousin Marianna di Carlo Ridulfo, and her two small children, and with his uncle Giuseppe Castro and his wife, Maria Rosa di Carlo, and their eight children. They arrive on 4 June 1905. He marries Antonietta (her surname is unknown).[2]
Later that year Antonino lives at 2028 First Avenue, corner of 105th Street, Manhattan, New York. [2]
In February of 1906 he resides at 345 105th Street, New York. [2]
Antonino marries Antonina Fisciella, age 23 (b. 1886), the daughter of Vincenzo Fisciella and Francesca Falca, on 1 November 1909 in Manhattan. Antonino is 27. This record calls his mother Santa Kosta.[3]
Antonino and Antonina have two children, Maria Santa/Sadie (1911) and Vincenzo (1926).[2]
In 1910 Antonino resides at 312 East 106th Street, Manhattan.[2] That year, his brother Francesco joins him at this address.
Antonio DiCarlo registers for the draft for WWI. He is a self-employed butcher, age 36, born 15 December 1881. He lives at 184 Heckel, Belleville, Essex, NJ. His nearest relative is his wife Antonina DiCarlo at the same address. Antonio is of medium height and stout build, with blue eyes and brown hair.[4]
According to the 1920 census, he entered the United States in 1910. He lives with his wife Antonina and their first child, Maria Santa, in Bellville, Essex County, New Jersey.[2]
In 1930, Antonino lives in Belleville, Essex Co., NJ. Like his father, Antonino is a butcher. Antonino, 48, and his wife Antonina, 44, have two children at home, Sadie, 19, who is a dressmaker, and Vincenzo, who is four.[5]
Antonino dies in New Jersey.[2]
