Biography

Jane Dickinson was born in 1876 in Worston, Lancashire, England to Francis Dickinson and Lucy (Whalley) Dickinson. Her birth was registered in Clitheroe, Lancashire in the third quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Warner [Whalley].^[1]

In 1881 Jane Dickinson (age 4) lived at 10 Old Road in Chatburn, Lancashire with her father Francis (39, Gardener), mother Lucy (38, Gardeners Wife), and six siblings: Grace (18, Cotton Weaver), William (16, Gardener), Richard (14, Cotton Folder), James (9, Scholar), Walter (7, Scholar), and Rhoda (11 months).^[2]

In 1891 Jane Dickenson (age 14, Weaver Cotton) lived at Old Road in Chatburn with her father Francis (49, Gardener), mother Lucy (49), and four siblings: James (19, Weaver Cotton), Walter (17, Gardener), Rhoda (10, Scholar), and Frank (7, Scholar).^[3]
