Biography

Angela was born in 1822. She is the daughter of Johannes Didier and Susanna Fridrich.

I have not read the records from St. Anthony Church; I have not seen the names of Angela's parents. However, I believe it must be Angela DIDIER, the daughter of Johannes DIDIER and Susanna FRIDRICH, from Mettlach. It is all based on circumstantial evidence, but the evidence is strong. First of all, I looked for her parents in Waukesha County; no luck with Johannes DIDIER. However, the film of the census is very difficult to read. There is a couple indexed as John and Susanna DEDIC in Waukesha County, only 2 families away from Lawrence and Angela ZIMMER. Their ages are given as 66 and 67; Johannes DIDIER should be 65 and Susanna should be 67. They have a son John, aged 36; Johannes DIDIER should be 39. In addition, the records from Mettlach collected by Reinhold Junges indicate that the family of Johannes DIDIER and Susanna FRIDRICH probably came to North America with the family of their daughter and son-in-law, Nicolas REMMEL and Johanatha DIDIER. I would be considerably happier with this assignment if I could find Nicolas and Johanna in Waukesha County. But I can't find even them anywhere in the country. Despite the uncertainty, I believe my assignment is correct.

Note that Angela DIDIER is the second cousin once removed of Lorenz ZIMMER.
