Martin was born in 1949. He was the son of Louis Basil Deacon Dill-Franzen and Mary-Louise Alden. He passed away in 1956. He died at Princess Nursing Home in Jhb but was usually a scholar at Pietersburg School, living at Mooketsi, Northern Transvaal.
