Biography
John was the son of John Dodsworth and Winifred Warde. He was baptised on 4 March 1595/6[1][2]
John married Frances, daughter of Sir Timothy Hutton,[3][4] at Richmond, Yorkshire on 26 December 1615.[1][5] They had the following children:
- John, baptised on 15 June 1617[1]
- Timothy, baptised on 1 January 1621[1]
- Matthew, baptised on 15 June 1634[1]
- Elizabeth, who married William Metcalfe, son of Sir Francis Metcalfe[1]
- Winifred, baptised on 2 September 1632, who married Francis Purley of Farlesthorpe, Lincolnshire[1]
John was buried at Thornton Watlass, Yorkshire on 30 July 1642.[1]
