Arthur Leo Doherty was born on 4 August 1907 in Auckland, New Zealand, son of Arthur Bernard Doherty and Edith May Anderson.
Arthur (24) married Marjory Josephine Zainey (19) on 7 May 1932 in New Zealand.They divorced about 1956. [1] Their son was Ian Patrick Doherty (1932–2009).
