Jane E.^[1] Dolby was born 29 July^[2] 1846^[1][2] in Vermont^[1]. She was the daughter^[1][2] of Lucinda and Cyrus Dolby, and the sister-in-law of Civil War veteran Cyrus Williams of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.
