JAMES DONALDSON was born in Brooklyn, New York, July 28, 1900. After he had finished school, he went to work for the Grace Line on its New York-Chile run. Toward the close of World War I he joined the U.S. Army, which he left shortly after the Armistice. He then entered the pulp business. Toward the end of 1920 he visited, for purposes of study, Europe and Sweden. Later he was made a salesman for the Scandinavian American Trading Company, which at that time was Stora Kopparberg's American representative. He continued to work for the company, after it had changed its name to the Scandinavian Pulp Agents, until the fall of 1928, when it was merged with the Perkins Goodvin Company. It was at this time that Stora Kopparberg decided to open their own offices in the United States and appointed Mr Donaldson Vice-President and Head of the Pulp Department in the new corporation. Mr Donaldson has been the executive director for the corporation since 1939, and in this capacity he has visited Sweden many times, often accompanied by his wife and children, one son and two daughters. Mr Donaldson's home is in West Orange, New Jersey.
