Biography

Catherine was born about 1865. Not both Catherine's Marriage Certificate and Death Certificate suggest this. So far I have been unable to locate her Birth Registration, although I can find siblings.

On her MC the name given is Catherine and she signs it this way. However on her DC her name is given as Kathleen Louise. Witnesses to the marriage are Patrick Canny, one of Edmond's brothers, and Elizabeth Donovan almost certainly a relative of Catherine's.

• Probate Document. 1929 Will of her husband born as Edmond Canny, married and signed as Edward Canny. Died as Edmond Canny. All of Edmond's estate (which may have not been very valuable) was left to Catherine/Kathleen Louise. At the time of Edmond's death, he/they appeared to own a far at Boinka which is deep in the Mallee region halfway between Ouyen and Murrayville.
