Biography
Louis Doucet was born in 1849. He was the son of Romain and Marie DeGrâce. Louis was listed in the 1861 census at age 12 [1] and again in 1871 at age 22. [2]
He married Julienne Haché on 13 February 1877 in Bathurst. [3]
When his father died in 1890, he inherited the family home and farm which he kept "until 1932 when he sold everything to his grand-son Hector Picot for a dollar." [4] This house can be seen at the Village Historique Acadien / Acadian Village Heritage Site in Caraquet, New Brunswick.
Louis passed away in 1939 at the age of 89. [5]
